Mixed Vocal Project (MVP) is offering limited spots to experienced Barbershoppers to join us for the Barbershop Harmony Australia (BHA) National Festival in Canberra, September 2025.

What are the fees for participating in this program?- $150 chorus fees, includes an official MVP polo!
- MVP Retreat 25-27 July (Approx $220). An amazing opportunity to learn from a nationally acclaimed coach.
- All competing members must be a member of BHA – the fee is $97.50 and must be paid to BHA directly (if you are not already a member with another club)
- Individual registration fee for Canberra Festival $499 (Early Bird) / $549 (Standard) Barbershop Harmony Australia Festival plus all travel expenses
- Stay warm, look cool option to purchase a Hoodie at $70.
- All interested singers must attend Open Night on 30 June.
- We encourage you to be prepared to audition on the night. The audition entails singing 3 tags in a quartet with members of MVP’s leadership team. The audition is undertaken in a private space, not in front of the chorus. The tags, with learning tracks, will be provided to you upon registering an expression of interest.
- To pass, a singer must show they are confident holding their part in a quartet and contribute positively to the sound.
- Yes! There is no rule against competing with multiple choruses.
- After the Open Night audition, participants must learn and audition via riser tracks, the two contest songs before our annual MVP retreat on 25-27 July.
- It would be advantageous to also learn an additional three songs; two we will be performing at the Gold Coast Eisteddfod in August and one we’ll have up our sleeve in case we are on the Showcase in Canberra. (Eisteddfod is not compulsory for participants)
- We recommend that participants pass their audition for both competition songs before making travel arrangements
